It’s been about half a year since our last intern Robin left us and in that period we started to miss the youthful energy that comes with working with an impressionable student who is eager to learn. We were fortunate enough to be able to bring Marianne on board, who is not only a quick learner but also a joy to work with.
Take a moment to get to know the newest member of our team, our intern, Marianne.
Hi Marianne! Welcome to the spriteCloud team! Tell us about yourself.
Hi, nice to meet you! I am Marianne Uhl and I am currently studying Information Technology at the Hogeschool of Inholland in Haarlem.
What will you be doing at spriteCloud?
I will be working for spriteCloud as a Test Automation Engineer Intern. I will mainly be focusing on our test automation platform Calliope Pro. So far I have been doing the training, learning more about the platform and asking as many questions as I can.
What do you hope to achieve at spriteCloud?
There are a lot of things that know I will learn here at spriteCloud. Besides learning I would like to make some meaningful additions to the platform and have a taste of what it is like working in an international company. Since I do not know what kind of direction I want to go in within the field of IT this will also be an opportunity for me to see if testing and test automation is something I want to specialise in.
What is your favourite thing about your role or spriteCloud, so far?
My favourite thing here would be all of my colleagues. I was a nervous wreck when I first came through the front door but they made me feel very welcome here and are willing to help me with all of my questions. Because of them I know I will learn a lot and even have a good laugh every once in a while doing so.
Tell us something that you wish more people knew about you.
I like to paint, preferably with the cheapest water paint possible. At home, I can spend hours on painting shapes with different colour combinations and contrasts. The best thing is that colours can look totally different next to another or when adding light and shadows. Unfortunately, I have not been able to reach my “painting goal” of making the perfect sunrise yet, but I am working on it!
