Today marks the ten-year anniversary of spriteCloud wading into the murky waters of software testing and learning to swim with the big boys. Today we celebrate ten years of software testing excellence, ten years of building a name in the industry, and ten years of building a family. If this were a marriage, the appropriate gift at ten years would be something of tin or aluminium. However, we at spriteCloud will celebrate with our favourite pass time, BBQing, drinking rum, and dancing the night away.

After ten years, we’ve built up a lot of memories and a lot of gratitude, which this post will take the opportunity to share.

10 years ago today, spriteCloud was officially born. This day in 2009, four of us walked into the Dutch KvK office in Leiden and signed the incorporation documents that made our new business as real as our dreams. The early days were typical of any new business, lots of energy and work, with very little idea what the hell we were doing. Every step forward was a lesson learned, and many lessons came about from a failure – or two, or three at the same time – that knocked us down. If anything has been proven true over the last 10 years, its that the only true failure in life is giving up and quitting.

So here we are, 10 years old, 10 years strong, looking great and ready to take on the next 10 years! On behalf of my co-founder, Mark and myself, I would like to extend our most heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to all our current and former staff who shared the journey to this anniversary. You have all contributed to getting us here, and you have added something of yourself to spriteCloud’s vibrant culture, of which I am so immensely proud. I would also like to thank all of the clients, past and present, for all of the work engagements and interesting projects (so many I’ve lost count) that we would not be here without you.

Finally, no anniversary message would be complete without a huge thank you to my wife, Shabnam, and Mark’s girlfriend, Andrea, for their support and encouragement. That has been the light that kept us on the path from the beginning.
So thank you all, and here’s to the next 10 years of the best roller coaster in life you could ever hope to ride!

You helped provide the impetus to set us on this ten-year journey. To our current clients, thank you for your continued trust and the relationships we have built together. We firmly believe that it is only when we work together, that we can make a real difference in the world.

At such a milestone as being in business for ten years, it’s always fun to look back at the road that led us here. Running a business for ten years is no trivial matter. Every company goes through periods of ups and downs, and spriteCloud is no exception. We believe that the past should be looked at holistically because the bad memories inform the good memories. With that, let’s have a look at some memories from the past then years.
